   AoE3 DE: Group to Glory Team Tournament 

​

Tournament Overview​

This is a multifaceted double-elimination team tournament featuring structured match sets played over multiple weeks, followed by elimination rounds. The tournament includes 8 teams, each consisting of 4 players. Teams compete in scheduled 2v2, 3v3 and 4v4 matches according to the rules outlined.

πŸ§‘‍✈️  Team Captains & Group Representation​

Each team is led by a designated Team Captain

The Team Captain is responsible for:

  • Organizing and scheduling matches

  • Submitting lineups prior to match start

  • Submitting match results and recordings

  • Communicating with tournament administrators regarding roster or player issues

Captains are not penalized for player issues if they are properly reported to tournament administrators.

πŸ“‹  βš”οΈ Match Participation & Lineup Rules

Each team plays a total of five matches per set, if required:

  • Three 2v2 matches

  • Two 3v3 matches

Each player on a team must participate in three (3) of the matches.

No player may participate in four (4) or five (5) matches. 

Captains must lock their lineups before each of the 2v2 and 3v3 matches.

After the first match is completed, teams must submit and lock a new lineup for the next match.

Once a lineup is locked, it cannot be changed.​

⏱️  Match Completion Window 

  • Teams are given a timeframe of one (1) week to complete their round matches in a set.

  • All matches must be played within this one-week window unless an extension is approved by tournament administrators.

  • Matches may be scheduled at any time during the allowed period by mutual agreement of both captains.

⚠️  Participation Enforcement 

Teams must field all five players across the five matches in a set.

Failure to do so will result in:

  • First offense: warning

  • Repeated offenses: possible forfeits of maps at admin discretion

πŸ’€  Player Inactivity 

  • Players who fail to respond or remain inactive for 48 hours without prior notice may be marked as inactive.

  • Captains must notify tournament administrators if a player becomes inactive.

  • Tournament administrators may approve a substitute of similar skill if available.

  • Captains are not penalized for player inactivity if it is properly reported.

🚷  Player Withdrawal After Draft 

  • Once teams are drafted, rosters are locked.

  • Players who withdraw after the draft without a valid reason may be disqualified from the tournament.

  • In cases of exceptional circumstances, tournament administrators may allow:

  • A forced substitute from the reserves player list (players who signed up but did not make the top 32), or

  • Disqualification of their team from the tournament, if they fail to make reasonable effort to get the match scheduled with their opponents.
