Overview
-
Game Version: Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition
-
Format: 4-player groups
-
Match Type: 2v2 Supremacy with rotating teammates
-
Progression: Top players from each group advance through continued group stages
Match Structure
Each group of 4 players will play a set of 3 Best-of-3 matches, where every player teams up once with each other member of the group.
Matches are as follows:

Match 1: A + B vs C + D
-
Match 2: A + C vs B + D
-
Match 3: A + D vs B + C
Each player appears in all three matches, once with each teammate.
Scoring System
-
Matches are Best-of-3
-
Winning team members receive 3 points prospectively.
-
Losing team members receive either 1 point depending on if they won a game (1-2) if not, and they lose (0-2) 0 points are awarded.
Tie-breakers:
-
Total individual games won
Example Scoring:
-
A + B defeats C + D (2–1)
-
B + D defeats A + C (2–0)
-
B + C defeats A + D (2–0)
Final Point Totals:
-
B – 9 points (3 wins)
-
C – 4 points (1 win)
-
D – 4 points (1 win)
-
A – 3 points (1 win)
Top 2 players from each group will advance to the next stage.

Randomly selected from a standard 2v2 team map pool

No map is repeated within a group
Civilization Rules
-
Each player may only use a civilization once per group stage

Civilization picks reset in the next round

Duplicate civs are allowed between teams in the same match

Scheduling
-
Players have 1 week to complete all matches in their group

Use the #scheduling Discord channel to coordinate

Admins may reschedule, assign wins, or replace players if needed
Reporting Results
Winners must post in the #match-results Discord channel with:

Match score (e.g., 2–1)
-
Civs used by each player
-
Link to replay file for each game
Conduct Rules
-
Disconnects within 2 minutes: restart
-
Disconnects after 2 minutes: players vote to replay or continue
-
Cheating, bug abuse, and exploits are grounds for disqualification
-
Good sportsmanship is required throughout the event
Replays & Disputes
-
All replays must be uploaded to #match-results
-
Admins will review replays in case of disputes
-
Missing replays may invalidate results
Advancement Format
-
After each round, top players are reassigned into new groups
-
New groups repeat the same rotating 2v2 format
-
Group stages continue until only four top-performing players remain
-
The final 4 players to form the last group will be awarded their prizes dependent on where they place.
-
4th place and 3rd place will be awarded their prize.
-
2nd place and 1st place will be awarded their prize and be overall top 2 winners of the tournament.
Admins will determine the number of rounds based on total signups and timing.
